If you're wondering where I've been, I'm relearning how to REST. I am relearning how to breathe. I'm relearning how to care for myself. I'm LEARNING better boundaries. And I'm understanding that I need all of this. With every fiber of my being. So if you hear no thank you from me, then no thank you. I'm working hard on my yeses becoming emphatic yeses. Anything else is just a no. Having time by myself in the desert to weave together rest, work, reading, hikes, new hobbies (I'm addicted to watercolor suddenly!), naps and Moe cuddles is something I need so badly. I'm proud of myself for respecting myself and holding my boundaries around my solitude and my needs to maintain good physical, mental and emotional health. Don't stay caught up in grind culture, y'all, it's making you sick. If you could dictate your own schedule while still working, what would that look like to you? How could you make that happen?

We're on the road. It's one of our only two big trips left this year and it's the first time Noah's really going to have spent time with me in Utah in two years. I have lots of feelings right now but the biggest feels I'm having are gratitude that I got to witness Indiana bloom before we hit the road and simultaneously sorrow that I don't get to enjoy it longer before heading to what seems like the land of neverending winter this year! SO happy that I got up early for a morning walk in the woods with my sister before hitting the road. We don't get enough time just the two of us because we're so busy being mamas. The blooms gave us both life and so did our coffee. 💕 See you in 6 weeks, Indy!

I fucking love this portrait that I shot during an empowerment session in Utah. @biggirlfitgirl is a successful businesswoman and hair stylist, and she also hosts empowering women's retreats focused on travel and self acceptance. She is a vibrant, strong, beautiful human who is an advocate for UNdieting and trusting our perfect bodies just the way they are. When she booked me for an Empowerment Session she wasn't yet sure of whether she would want to bare it all or not. For the record - you do NOT have to get naked for an Empowerment Session! But she did. And she OWNED it. She owned her strength, grace, beauty and resiliency while torturing her knees in a bed of lava rock. It was not an easy feat but she was Unstoppable!
