In Home Sessions are PERFECT for Winter
Now that I’m tucked away in the land of eternal grayness for this winter, I often get asked the best way to book any type of session on super cold and yucky days without a studio space. The quick answer to that?
IN HOME SESSIONS.
Now, hear me out…let me tell you why I prefer in home sessions instead of using a studio. You don’t HAVE to have the biggest, neatest, tidiest, most fashionable home. You don’t have to have the best lighting in your home. What you need to have is a place you call home and a knowledgeable photographer who knows how to work in a variety of spaces with all types of lighting. A place that you love to be to connect, cook, relax and play is the perfect home. Home looks very different for everyone…I mean, my home is a school bus! There is no one right way for home to look. With an experienced photographer, you will have beautiful portraits that can be shot in even the tiniest of little special nooks in your home.
The added benefit to in home sessions with small children is that you’re not rushing to get everyone into the car and to a new location after working so hard to get everyone ready. Is there a spill or an accident? No problem, your closet is at your fingertips! Your littles have a space where they feel safe: they can rest, take potty breaks, grab a snack and show off their favorite toys and books. This is especially beneficial for children and adults who are slow to warm up or who aren’t especially social.
In home sessions are not only a wonderful way to capture the family, but they are great for headshots and branding, too! Especially if you already have a work from home situation and have a dedicated work space set up.
Empowerment Sessions in your own home mean that you have access to your entire wardrobe, your toiletries, and you are shooting in the place you feel most comfortable! What more could you want for an empowerment session?
